Patrons

General (Retd) Sir John Learmont KCB CBE
Former QM-General of the Army
'It is a great honour to be invited to be a Patron to the Pilgrimbandits Charity.  I have nothing but the highest admiration for the courage and determination shown by so many of our badly wounded servicemen and women.  For me this is exemplified by the spirit of adventure and refusal to give in to adversity shown by LBdr Ben Parkinson, whom I have been privileged to meet and whose CO in 7 Parachute Regiment Royal Horse Artillery was my youngest son James.  I salute Ben and all who are members of the Pilgrimbandits and marvel at their exploits.'

Duncan Bannnatyne OBE

“Pilgrim bandits is a fantastic charity, that works with guys that have lost limbs or suffer from life changing injuries. They work together and bond together, everything they do with the lads is fantastic ”
“I'm going to be involved forever, even when Afghanistan stops,” he added.“ These soldiers will still have lost limbs, they wont get them back, that's permanent, and so I will continue to support them.”

L/Bdr Ben Parkinson
Para Lance Bombardier Ben Parkinson who lost both legs in Afghanistan and was once dubbed the most seriously injured serviceman ever to survive the battlefield. His injuries were so appalling doctors said he would never walk or talk again, however they didn't take into account the determination of a 26 yr old yorkshire man who has gone on to inspire others by his achievements.
" I'm very proud to be first Forces Patron of the Pilgrimbandits Charity. They don't do sympathy and when they say get up to the top of that hill you get up there as quickly as possible " said Ben

Tpr Jamie Hull

" There was quite a long time when I felt down and out and had lost my own sense of motivation,” says Jamie. “It took some effort but I bounced back and I've actually realised I am lucky. At one point I thought I might lose my legs but that didn't happen. Because I was so active before this happened I think I have something in me that drives me to go on. I know now that there's always hope and I'm just doing my very best to make the most of life.”

John Sandford Hart
Ex REME
John is a local amputee living in Christchurch. He lost his leg a few years ago through a boating accident and work's tirelessly for Blesma and other Forces Charities. His challenges include climbing Kilimanjaro on crutches and setting records for doing the London Marathon.

" When I was approached by the Pilgrimbandits, I had heard about there challenges and my own sense of adventure just forced me to accept their kind invitation to be a Patron "

L/Cpl Johno Lee
" I'm privileged and honoured to have been asked to be a Patron of this growing charity. I aim to help the charity grow in order to help as many injured service men as possible. Also with support we can do great
work and help every one that needs it , as I was" .
